A DAY ON THE ISLAND

Capri

Time to enjoy the island.

The Faraglioni, narrow lanes and gardens above the sea. Give Capri a day with a few well-chosen stops and the return journey already arranged.

The journey
Pontone → Amalfi → Capri
Keep in mind
Seasonal ferry connections

Choose where to begin.

For a first visit, head from Marina Grande to Capri town, walk from the Piazzetta towards the Gardens of Augustus and leave time to pause. If Anacapri appeals more, make it the focus of your day: trying to fit everything in leaves little time between journeys.

A boat tour around the island is separate from the ferry crossing. The Blue Grotto depends on sea conditions and queues: it is not a guaranteed stop, and it is different from the Emerald Grotto in Conca dei Marini.

Choose the return sailing first.

Check the Amalfi–Capri connection for your travel date and book the return too. Ferries arrive at Marina Grande; Capri town is uphill, reached by funicular, bus or taxi according to the day’s services.

Check the departure port, boarding details, luggage and any additional charges in the operator’s booking summary. If the Amalfi service is not operating, consider another day or a route via Sorrento with Alfonso; this involves extra travel.

THE LAST PART OF THE DAY

Back to Pontone.

Return to Marina Grande ahead of boarding. After the ferry, you still need to travel uphill from Amalfi to Pontone: arrange that connection before leaving and recheck services if the sea is rough.
